Two men adjourned for sentencing over pub theft in Cork

Two Irish delivery men, Paul Morey (51) and Paul O'Callaghan (47), stole up to €34,000 from a locked cupboard at the Skibbereen Eagle pub in Tragumna, Skibbereen, between November 2017 and October 2019. The pub owner installed internal CCTV in 2019 and caught the men on camera, and Gardaí later set up a scheduled delivery during which they were caught a second time. The men pleaded guilty to sample counts of theft at Cork Circuit Criminal Court in September 2021 and paid €12,000 in compensation. The case was adjourned to 24 February 2022 to allow them to raise further compensation, and both were released on bail.
