Ireland Gardaí seize phone from Brian Rattigan in Gary Carey murder probe
Gary 'The Canary' Carey was shot six times in an underground car park at the Hilton Hotel in Kilmainham, Dublin 8, shortly before midday on 24 June 2022, and died in hospital on 5 August 2022. Investigators believe a man in his 30s, arrested on 16 May 2023 at Mountjoy Prison, was the lone gunman; his arrest was the fifth in the probe, and by 9 June 2023 all arrested suspects had been released with files sent to the Director of Public Prosecutions. On 13 June 2023 gardaí were reported to have seized a phone from crime boss Brian Rattigan, 42, who reportedly handed it over willingly, as part of their probe into his associates.
