Gardaí appeal for witnesses after woman abducted from car in Bagenalstown, Co Carlow

On Sunday 2 June 2024, at about 11.30pm, a man drove away at speed in a grey Peugeot 307 hatchback from outside Rico's takeaway on the Royal Oak Road, Bagenalstown, Co Carlow, while the car's driver was inside. A woman, the driver's partner, was sitting in the back seat, and a few hundred metres down the road the man stopped the car and made her get out before driving off. Gardaí described the ordeal as very frightening for her and, as reported on 6 June 2024, are appealing for witnesses and for dashcam or CCTV footage. No arrest or charge has been reported.
