Former Christian brother, 88, jailed for four years for abusing eight boys in 1970s

Jack Manning, an 88-year-old former Christian Brother and teacher, pleaded guilty at Dublin Circuit Court to 14 charges of indecent assault against eight boys he taught in first class at CBS, Westland Row, Dublin 2, in 1973 and 1974. Gardaí arrested him in March 2012, and he denied the allegations. In July 2021 he was jailed for three years for indecently assaulting four boys at the same school. He was arrested again in May 2023 and denied molesting anyone. On 12 March 2025 Judge Martin Nolan sentenced him to four years in prison, imposed as two consecutive two-year terms.
