Dublin man jailed over cocaine package and collision with Garda
On 4 January 2023 authorities identified a package from Colombia containing just under €300,000 worth of cocaine, addressed to a fictitious woman in Dublin. Gardaí made a controlled delivery, and Christopher Reynolds, 26, approached in a taxi to collect it. Last May, while on bail, he was observed driving at high speeds in Finglas on a stolen motorbike, collided with a member of the Garda drugs unit and was caught after a chase. He was charged with possession of drugs for sale and supply and with endangerment, and at the Circuit Criminal Court the judge set a sentence of three years for the drugs offence and two years for endangerment, to run consecutively, backdated to 28 May; Reynolds has been jailed.
