Drugs valued at €2.2m seized in Operation Tara raids in Laois and Dublin
On 11 July 2025, gardaí seized approximately €2.2 million of controlled drugs, including cocaine, cannabis, ketamine and diamorphine, during Operation Tara raids in County Laois and West Dublin. A vehicle was intercepted on the M7 motorway in Laois, where about €100,000 of suspected cocaine was found, and a follow-up search at a West Dublin residence yielded the remaining drugs along with cash and other items. A man in his 30s was arrested at the M7 scene and detained under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996. He was subsequently released from that detention and charged in connection with the case. He is scheduled to appear before Blanchardstown District Court on 14 July 2025 at 10:30am.
