Kelly pleaded guilty at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court to careless driving causing death and to possessing drugs for sale or supply. On 12 March 2024 he received a one-year sentence for careless driving causing death, suspended in full, and a one-year driving ban, and the judge reserved his decision on the drugs charge until the following day. The latest development is a three-year prison term for the drugs offence, suspended in full on strict conditions.
