Cork woman given suspended sentence for sexually exploiting son
A 45-year-old Cork woman was sentenced by Ms Justice Karen O'Connor to a fully-suspended three-year prison term after being convicted by a jury in June 2022 of wilful neglect, sexual assault and sexual exploitation of her son between 2010 and 2015. The court heard she has very limited cognitive functioning, significant childhood trauma and a high density of intervention needs.
