Businessman charged with possessing petrol with intent to set house on fire, Dublin
On 13 July 2023 at a house on Limekiln Avenue, Dublin 12, gardaí allege that Adam Scott, a 28-year-old male businessman of St Patrick's Road, Greenhills, was in the garden with a drum or can of petrol intended to set the house on fire, and that CCTV shows him in a verbal altercation and punching a male in the face. Gardaí arrested Scott on a Thursday and charged him with possessing an accelerant to cause damage to the property, and at Dublin District Court on a Saturday, before Judge Dermot Dempsey, bail was refused. He was remanded in custody to appear at Cloverhill District Court on a Friday. The garda agreed the offence could be dealt with at Circuit Court level, but directions from the Director of Public Prosecutions must still be obtained.
