Brazilian woman jailed for 21 months after swallowing 33 cocaine pellets at Dublin Airport

Talia Pavia De Souse, 24, a Brazilian student nurse and mother of two, was sentenced to 21 months' imprisonment at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court for possessing 330 grams of cocaine (33 pellets, valued at €23,000) that she had swallowed before travelling from Brazil via Paris to Dublin Airport on 18 June 2022. Judge Martin Nolan accepted she was a coerced drugs mule operating under financial pressure and backdated the sentence to June 2022.
