Case No. 16763Robbery · Co. Kildare · 29 Mar 2024

Bench warrant issued for Kildare court defendant accused of robbing elderly man

A man in his 80s was allegedly approached by two women in Newbridge, Co Kildare, on 28 March 2024 and, in a separate alleged incident at his address in Naas on 29 March, was taken into a bedroom and had his clothes removed while €110 was stolen. Florentina Baeram, a 31-year-old woman with no fixed abode and an address given as Newbridge, has been prosecuted for entering the man's address at Naas with another woman, who has not been identified. She was first before Naas District Court in April 2024, and on 23 May she appeared in person on bail, when DPP directions were not yet ready for the Naas incident and the case was adjourned to 27 June. When she failed to appear on 27 June, Judge Desmond Zaidan issued a bench warrant for her arrest, as reported on 2 July 2024.
