Appeals launched over murder and violent disorder convictions in Blanchardstown
On 24 December 2023, gunman Tristan Sherry, 26, shot Jason Hennessy Sr, 48, in the neck at Browne's Steakhouse in Blanchardstown, Dublin, before being disarmed and beaten to death by members of Hennessy's group; Hennessy died in hospital on 4 January 2024. In February 2025, the Special Criminal Court convicted Michael Andrecut, David Amah and Noah Musueni of murder, and Brandon Hennessy, Jonas Kabangu and Diarmuid O'Brien of violent disorder, while Juares Kumbu pleaded guilty to a firearms charge. Andrecut was sentenced to life imprisonment in April 2025, and in May 2025 Amah and Musueni each received 12 years with the final three years suspended, with the violent disorder defendants receiving shorter terms. In July 2026, Andrecut and Brandon Hennessy launched appeals against their convictions, with the judge reserving judgment.
